    Now Hiring a Full-Time Memory Support Director!

     

    This position is responsible for all activities taking place in the memory support neighborhood of a given community, including managing care of all residents, managing the activities of the staff in the memory support neighborhood, communication with medical professionals and families about the needs of residents, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards, and communicating with management company on all appropriate matters.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure all Memory Support residents are assessed prior to residency as required by state regulations or with any significant change of condition to ensure delivery of assessed services.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Nursing and participate in care conferences as required by state regulations with residents and family members to discuss resident needs and appropriate service delivery.
    • Work with Leisure & Lifestyle staff to ensure all Memory Support residents have resident-specific activity and social interaction appropriate to their current cognitive abilities.
    • Screen, interview, hire, train, schedule, coach, supervise, and terminate all licensed staff and caregivers in the Memory Support Neighborhood as needed.
    • Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions which assists others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

    Requirements:

    • Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors!
    • A genuine desire to advocate for those with a Dementia diagnosis. 4+ years of Management experience with employee oversight and customer relations preferred. 3+ years of experience in a Dementia care setting preferred.
    • Complimentary professional experience in recreation or occupational therapy, art or music therapy, hospitality management, teaching, coaching, health & wellness or related fields are welcome.
    • LPN or RN license required. On-going certifications and/or continuing education credits in geriatrics, Dementia, leadership, activities, human resources or related, strongly preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and positive community relations skills are essential.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
